When you use HearIQ to read text aloud, the selected text is sent to our servers and third-party text-to-speech providers to generate audio. This text is:

Local Storage

HearIQ stores your preferences locally in your browser, including:

• Selected voice preferences
• Playback speed settings
• Highlight preferences

This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Articles and selections you save to your listening queue are stored locally on your device only. Their text is sent to our text-to-speech service only when you press play.

No Tracking or Analytics

We do not use analytics platforms, tracking pixels, cookies, or advertising identifiers, and we do not build profiles of you or track your browsing history.

To keep the service available and prevent abuse, our API maintains minimal, anonymous operational counts (such as the number of requests) tied to a temporary server-side identifier. These counts never include the text you send or your identity, and they are never sold or shared.

Third-Party Services

HearIQ uses third-party text-to-speech providers to generate high-quality AI voices. When you use our service, text may be processed by:

• Inworld AI (for premium natural voices)
• Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (for free-tier voices)

These providers have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing their policies if you have concerns about how your text data is processed.

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
